Nick Chubb receives update, timetable for potential return following knee injury
Nick Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury during the Cleveland Browns’ Monday Night Football matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers this past week.
The former Georgia running back was quickly determined to be out for the season following his injury by Cleveland. Anyone who saw the injury (here, discretion advised) would know it was going to keep him out some time.
But on Saturday, under the circumstances, Chubb received a positive injury update regarding his injury. Most importantly, Chubb only tore his MCL on the hit, which means he should be able to return in 6-8 months, in time for the start of the 2024 season.
This is different than his 2015 injury where he tore 3 separate ligaments in his leg against Tennessee.
Browns’ RB Nick Chubb is believed to have suffered only a torn MCL, per sources. His pre-surgery, projected recovery time is 6-8 months, per sources.https://t.co/4Kg7RGCUkL

Chubb is scheduled for surgery this week according to the above report. Doctors are hoping to not find more damage, but believe his ACL was “stretched” on the play but did not tear.
Jerome Ford is expected to take over RB1 duties for Cleveland moving forward with Chubb sidelined.
