Georgia’s special teams unit may soon take a hit as a key contributor from the Bulldog roster recently entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Junior running back Prather Hudson has placed his name into the NCAA transfer portal according to 247Sports. While Hudson is a walk-on player, he has appeared in every game for the Bulldogs the previous three seasons.

Hudson has also previously been awarded the Frank Sinkwich Award (toughest player on the team) by Georgia. Hudson is scheduled to graduate, meaning he will be eligible to play immediately if he chooses to leave Kirby Smart’s program.

It should be noted that players are permitted to enter the NCAA transfer portal and return to school. Entering the portal is simply the first step toward leaving school as it allows other programs to contact the player without breaking the NCAA’s tampering rules.
