President Biden has congratulated Georgia on winning the national championship, as the Bulldogs knocked off Alabama on Monday night in Indianapolis.

“Congratulations @GeorgiaFootball on your national championship! Your skill, grit, and determination show us what is possible – and how to win your school’s first title in 41 years. I’m proud of you, Bulldogs,” Biden tweeted.

Biden will likely invite Georgia to the White House to celebrate the accomplishment.

Kirby Smart, Stetson Bennett and a smothering defense fueled Georgia to the program’s first national championship in 41 years. Bennett launched the biggest throws of his storybook career and a late pick6 led Georgia to beat Alabama 33-18 in the College Football Playoff national championship in Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Bulldogs (14-1) hadn’t won a national title since freshman Herschel Walker led them there in 1980, and doing it against long-time nemesis Alabama made it sweeter for Georgia faithful. Moments like the likely trip to the White House will be especially memorable for Dawg Nation.
