Sports fans in the Peach State got some exciting news Friday: Todd Gurley is returning to the state of Georgia.

Gurley was born in Baltimore, Maryland and went to high school in Tarboro, North Carolina, but he played three memorable seasons in Athens, Georgia for UGA (2012-14), so it’s a homecoming of sorts for the former All-SEC standout. Considering how many diehard Dawgs are also Falcons fans, it’s no surprise that Atlanta is using Gurley’s college career to hype the acquisition.

Bulldog fans will especially appreciate a video from the Falcons’ social media team. Atlanta’s official account posted a mashup video that seamlessly transitions from Falcons QB Matt Ryan throwing a screen pass to a highlight of Gurley, in college, catching a pass and taking it in for a score. The accompanying tweet tells everyone to get used to seeing Ryan-to-Gurley touchdowns.

Carrying the ball is obviously Gurley’s strength, but he has shown to be a threat in the passing game as well. Through five NFL seasons, Gurley has caught 218 passes for 2,090 yards (9.6 yards per catch average) with a long of 80 yards and 12 touchdowns. In his Georgia career, Gurley caught six TD passes.
