Rece Davis didn’t miss a beat when he took the Orange Bowl broadcast back from Ryan Seacrest on Saturday night during halftime of Georgia’s rout of Florida State.

Seacrest joined the broadcast from Times Square ahead of his New Year’s Eve show, and the host, who attended Georgia, said he was, “so stoked that my Dawgs are playing the undefeated Noles” in the Orange Bowl. Seacrest then shared that the Sunday night show on ABC would have Jelly Roll, LL Cool J, Megan Thee Stallion, Sabrina Carpenter and Tyla set to perform.

But as Seacrest sent the coverage back to Davis, the host of “College GameDay” on ESPN responded this way:

“If you really love the Dawgs, you’ll accept an invitation to be the celebrity guest picker on College GameDay one week,” Davis said.

Georgia guest pickers in recent years have been former linebacker Nolan Smith, country singer Luke Bryan and comedian Jeff Foxworthy, but based on what Davis said, Seacrest has declined an invitation.

Seacrest, who attended Georgia as a journalism major, but didn’t graduate, gave the commencement address in 2016. Seacrest, who is from Dunwoody, Georgia, said his advice to graduates was that “your life will happen whether or not you get up … Make sure you happen to the day instead of it happening to you.”
