Georgia head coach Kirby Smart apparently doesn’t tolerate any slip-ups by his staff in recruiting.

According to Jason Butt of Macon Telegraph, a document he obtained through Georgia’s Open Records Act indicates former defensive line coach Tracy Rocker caused a minor violation for the program. The incident occurred when two Georgia assistants called the same recruit during the same week. Rocker was the second coach to call the recruit, which is a violation.

While it’s uncertain if this minor violation is what led to Rocker leaving the program, days after National Signing Day, Georgia was searching for a new defensive line coach. It didn’t take Smart long to name former Ole Miss defensive line coach Tray Scott as Rocker’s replacement.

Before landing the associate head coach/defensive line coach position in Athens, Rocker coached the defensive line for the Tennessee Titans, as well as at Auburn and Arkansas. Rocker was a two-time All-American at Auburn during his playing career.
