Rick Neuheisel and Tom McCarthy were on the call for the Auburn-Georgia game as part of the “SEC on CBS” double header with Texas A&M and Alabama being the primetime nightcap.

Neuheisel was in the place SEC fans normally see Gary Danielson, where criticism is usually at a peak during late-afternoon Saturdays. Neuheisel was credited for being self-deprecating when there was a video clip of his interception against Georgia when Vince Dooley coached the Bulldogs. But Neuheisel faced accusations of being too boring, and was on the wrong end of a one-liner about the Auburn offense.

Neuheisel lamented Auburn’s penalties and other mistakes, such as Robby Ashford’s open-field fumble late in the first half. The Tigers piled up 8 penalties for 50 yards with less than 2 minutes remaining.

Georgia led 14-0 at halftime in Sanford Stadium.
