Roman Harper knows an elite NFL prospect when he sees one, and the SEC Network analyst said Jamon Dumas-Johnson is ahead of former Georgia star Nakobe Dean, who was drafted in the third round by the Philadelphia Eagles, in terms of his development.

Harper spoke with reporters in Atlanta on Friday, and explained what he sees in Dumas-Johnson.

“The linebacker, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, oh my gosh. I’ll say in front of everybody: I think he’s actually better than Nakobe Dean as far as an NFL prospect,” Harper said via 247Sports. “He’s bigger, the dude has just as much speed, and if you watch this guy he’s flying around sideline to sideline making every single play. I love Nakobe Dean — and I say this with all due respect — but he’s just better. He’s bigger. He makes more plays, and he’s an outstanding NFL prospect in due time.”

Dumas-Johnson this season has started all 12 games to date and is tied for the team lead with 59 tackles, including 8 tackles for loss (which leads team) and 3 QB sacks (also tied for team high). He also has 17 QB hurries, third-most on the team.
