This weekend’s matchup between Georgia and Notre Dame was one of the toughest (and most expensive) tickets to get in all of college football this season.
However, as Saturday night’s kickoff draws closer, there are still several Georgia fans who haven’t gotten tickets they paid for from ticket broker Jeff Cook, according to an 11alive.com report.
Now, Putnam County, Georgia, sheriff Howard Sills is threatening Cook with jail time if he doesn’t deliver the promised tickets by game time or refund the money fans spent, according to the report:
Sills is not thrilled about Cook’s business practices. He’s closely following Cook’s business, and said that if he has indeed stolen fans’ money by not giving them their tickets, he will “throw his ass in jail.”
Sills was unsure what a reasonable amount of time would be given for Cook to refund customers. But the charges against him could be theft by taking/deception and even racketeering, according to Sills.
Saturday night’s game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. If the tickets aren’t delivered by then, Cook could face serious consequences.
And, there are sure to be plenty of unhappy Bulldog fans if they can’t attend the once-in-a-lifetime game at Notre Dame.
