Smael Mondon has seen limited reps for the Georgia Bulldogs to start the 2023 season, but is slowly working his way back into the swing of things following an offseason foot injury.

Mondon played under 10 snaps against UT Martin before making his return to the starting lineup Saturday against Ball State. Heading into Georgia’s first real test of the season Saturday, Mondon is feeling “pretty good” ahead of Week 3.

“I’m feeling good right now, feeling pretty good,” Mondon said, via DawgNation. “Really the toughest part probably is getting back in shape.”

The Gamecocks have their fair share of issues that need resolution –notably along the offensive line – but Mondon could have his hands full with Spencer Rattler in the backfield.

Plus, it’s college football. Anything can happen.

“Anybody can beat anyone on any given day,” Mondon said. “That’s why you got to put your best foot forward and prepare the best you can.”

Mondon totaled 4 tackles and 3 solo tackles, leading the team against the Cardinals due to the vast number of defensive snaps the Bulldogs spread across the roster.

South Carolina comes to town Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
