The New England Patriots went Georgia-heavy in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, selecting OL Isaiah Wynn with the No. 23 overall pick and RB Sony Michel with the No. 31 pick.

As the preseason quickly approaches, Michel is the only Patriots rookie yet to sign his contract, as Wynn inked his deal on Friday.

However, the former Bulldog isn’t worried about getting something done soon. He said he’s just focused on having his body ready for the grueling summer (via The Boston Herald):

“I’m sure it’s going to get taken care of, but that’s other people that’s taking care of that,” Michel said. “My focus is just to make sure I’m in the best shape possible that I can be to get ready for camp.”

Michel is expected to compete with Rex Burkhead, James White, Jeremy Hill and others for carries in New England’s busy backfield.

A good preseason will certainly help his case, so now it’s up to his agent to get a deal signed sooner rather than later.
