The Georgia Bulldogs have had some great running backs over the years, and will once again have a loaded backfield in 2019.

The star players from the 2017 season — Nick Chubb and Sony Michel — are both off to the NFL, with Michel already earning his first Super Bowl ring as a rookie with the New England Patriots last season.

Recently, Rivals.com caught up with Michel, who said he is glad he made the decision to go to Georgia and compete for carries with Chubb and others:

“I would say it’s all about competing with one another and not being afraid to compete. But we also had fun,” Michel said. “It was all about having fun and playing football. Georgia is a great program. So, to all you recruits that are out there – it’s a great program. It’s just one of those places that you know, I’m glad I made that decision.”

Despite being gone now for over a year, Michel still keeps up with his former team.

“I’m going to try to get to a couple of games,” Michel said. “I try to watch them every Saturday.”

It’s safe to say current and future Georgia running backs will also be watching Chubb and Michel as they embark on their second NFL seasons this fall.
