In his first full offseason, South Carolina coach Will Muschamp has put together a strong recruiting class.

Among the most important pieces of that class is 4-star cornerback Jamyest Williams. The nation’s No. 8 cornerback prospect has been committed to the Gamecocks since late August, but he’s drawing a lot of interest, especially from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.

Williams knows many of the players in Georgia’s recruiting class, and he is spending the weekend on an official visit with the Bulldogs.

This is a trip that South Carolina and Georgia fans are watching closely. Williams’ bond with several of the recruits already committed to the Bulldogs could play a big factor in a potential flip.

The 5-foot-9 corner has drawn positive comparisons to Tyrann Mathieu, and he figures to have a big career ahead of him.
