The Heisman Trophy race should be interesting with no clear-cut favorite as we head down the stretch of the regular season.

Could that open the door for Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett?

The SEC Network’s Spencer Hall and Richard Johnson can both envision “The Mailman” being delivered the most prestigious individual prize in the sport.

The analysts emphasized that a strong showing in the SEC Championship Game against LSU could win over enough voters to claim the award.

“Stetson Bennett, like Bryce Young last year can win the Heisman with one good performance in the SEC Championship Game,” Johnson said.

Hall echoed Johnson’s sentiments about Bennett, who has tallied 2,895 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions for undefeated No. 1 Georgia.

“He’s great. He’s a great college quarterback,” Hall said. “Postseason awards are designed to recognize this kind of production,” Hall said.

A defining moment in the conference title game could propel Bennett above a pack of contenders including Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, Michigan running back Blake Corum, Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker, and North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye.

The SEC Championship Game will take place on Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. ET from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
