After a historic 2021 season that culminated in the program’s first national championship in over 40 yards, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett IV has made his official decision on whether he will return in 2022 or move on.

And it’s good news for Bulldogs fans as Bennett will be back for a final season with the team. He made the announcement on an Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon.

Bennett threw for 2,862 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions during the 2021 season. His pass that led to an incredible 40-yard catch by Adonai Mitchell in the end zone, minutes after a fumble led to a go-ahead Crimson Tide touchdown, gave the Dawgs the lead for good with 8 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. He was eventually named the game’s MVP.

Bennett’s decision comes as JT Daniels reportedly officially entered the transfer portal on Wednesday. The Bulldogs’ quarterback room in 2022 will now feature Bennett, former 5-star recruit Brock Vandagriff, former 4-star Carson Beck, and highly-touted incoming recruit Gunner Stockton.
