Stetson Bennett and Georgia have not been in the kind of environment they experienced at Auburn on Saturday in a long time. They quickly noticed how loud it got in Jordan-Hare Stadium, and how the fans played a part in the game.

Bennett recapped the 34-10 Georgia win in an interview with CBS Sports.

“Good Lord, we haven’t played a true road game, or I haven’t, because of COVID last year,” he said. “We went to Bryant-Denny. But they played, I don’t even know what they played, I was focused, but they played something on the JumboTron before the game and it got crazy. They told us it was going to be like that, but that was so fun, that was awesome.”

Bennett himself was 14-for-21 passing for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns, with 41 yards rushing.

“Just working through the week with the guys,” Bennett said. “Knowing that all I had to do was get the ball in their hands, relied on our defense and just having fun. I mean, God, it was so much fun today.”

Speaking of that defense, he appreciated how it played against Bo Nix.

“The resiliency, I mean, because they’ve got a great quarterback in Bo,” he said. “He’s a freak athlete, I mean he just does crazy things.”

Bennett also commented on key third and fourth down stops by the Georgia defense.

“It feels so good and they’re dead tired right now because he runs all over the place,” Bennett said. “They ran all over the place, but we finally got him twice, I think. Man, it was just awesome.”
