Steve Spurrier may no longer be coaching in the SEC, but if you ask him about Georgia, he’s going to respond as the HBC.

Ahead of Tuesday’s Sugar Bowl, Spurrier couldn’t help, but work in a playful jab at the Bulldogs.

“Heading to the Sugar Bowl to watch the Puppies beat up on the Longhorns,” Spurrier said, per Dawg Post’s Matt DeBary. “Georgia should win by two or three TDs.”

Everyone loves puppies and young Bulldogs are technically puppies, but calling Georgia “the Puppies” is clearly Spurrier being Spurrier. If Spurrier speaks to any Dawg fans in New Orleans, he’ll likely be reminded that UGA has won the last two meetings in Jacksonville against his alma mater.

Speaking of Florida, Spurrier also clearly enjoyed the Gators’ 41-15 win over Michigan in the Peach Bowl.

“Boy, Michigan can’t compete with any team physically,” he said. “Put them up against a physical team and they can’t handle it.”

Spurrier is being inducted into the Sugar Bowl as part of the 2018 class.
