Georgia football’s “test” against the Clemson Tigers last week wasn’t much of one at all, as the Bulldogs were clearly the better team in a dominant, 34-3 victory to open the season.

The matchup looked like it would be a low-scoring, defensive affair at first when the Bulldogs walked into the locker room at halftime with a mere 6-0 lead off of a pair of field goals. Fortunately, the offense quickly busted things wide open in the second half with some adjustments from Mike Bobo, going on a 28-3 run in the final two quarters of the action.

Next up on the schedule, the Bulldogs will face a lesser opponent in Tennessee Tech. And head coach Bobby Wilder knows that is exactly what his team is as the Golden Eagles head into the belly of the beast to take on America’s No. 1 college football team.

“If I was being honest, I would tell you I’m not thrilled to be headed to Athens, Georgia, this weekend,” Wilder said. “So, I’ll be dishonest and say I’m very excited to be playing a game at Sanford Stadium in front of 93,000.”

Tennessee Tech is still looking for its first win after falling 32-25 to Middle Tennessee last week, and it would be nothing short of a miracle if the Golden Eagles were able to get it here.

Georgia and Tennessee Tech are set to kick off at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday in Sanford Stadium.
