Tim Tebow knows what it’s like to have an immense amount of pressure on yourself following a national title.

Tebow helped Florida win two national championships from 2006-2008, so he understands the position that Georgia is in this season.

The expectations are high for No. 1 Georgia after two consecutive national titles. There is a lot of pressure on the Bulldogs to perform. Tebow talked about what that reality is like for Georgia football on The Paul Finebaum Show Friday.

“There is a reality to it that we need to try to understand. It’s hard for people to put themselves in those shoes because they don’t know what it’s like. But there is a reality to that weight, to that pressure,” Tebow said. “I think Kirby Smart is doing a really good job trying to take that weight off of this team, off of the players.

“Because you need to celebrate every win, because there’s a lot of fan base, and a lot of critics, and a lot of the media that are going to say, ‘You didn’t win by as many, you didn’t look as good.’ What Kirby needs to continue to do is what he’s done. Just celebrate every win, just get a W, and give your players a chance to relax. You don’t have to please all the critics. You need to just focus on improving as a team, that’s what he’s always done, I believe that’s what he’ll continue to do and I think that takes a lot of pressure off his team.”

Kirby Smart can’t make everyone happy, but one thing he can do is keep winning and improving his team.
