Todd Monken’s offense is a big reason why Georgia is 13-0 on the season and in position to win a 2nd consecutive national championship.

The Bulldogs, under Monken’s guidance, have averaged nearly 40 points per game this season, and quarterback Stetson Bennett is a Heisman Trophy finalist after passing for more than 3,400 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Monken, who has been Georgia’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach since 2020, spoke Tuesday at the Broyles Award luncheon and was quick to credit others for the success that he has had in Athens.

“I am very appreciative of opportunities that I’ve gotten, and one thing about it is I’m just a byproduct of our players, Kirby Smart, and the culture and our coaching staff,” said Monken, who had been named a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is given annually to the top assistant coach in the country..

“I’ve been doing this a long time and been around a lot of great coaches. My whole family’s in coaching, and there’s nobody I trust more than Kirby Smart in terms of we’re going to win, we’re going to work, we’re going to recruit.”
