Travon Walker and the Jacksonville Jaguars trailed the Philadelphia Eagles 22-8 with just under 5-and-a-half minutes remaining in the third quarter.
The Jaguars, though, haven’t gone quietly, getting a massive defensive play to pull within 22-16 as they look to pull off an upset in Philly.
With the Eagles facing 1st-and-10 from their own 30, Saquon Barkley took a handoff but coughed the ball up shortly after coming to ground. It was scooped up by Walker, who initially looked as if he would be tackled immediately but somehow escaped traffic, followed a few blocks downfield, and rumbled into the end zone.
Here’s video of Walker’s first career touchdown:

Walker, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, appears to be slowly living up to his billing. He recorded just 3.5 sacks as a rookie but finished with 10.0 in 2023. He came into Sunday’s contest having totaled 6.5 sacks through 8 games as he is on pace for a career season.
Now, Walker has a touchdown to his credit. He had 0 touchdowns in his college and professional career until Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are looking for a turnaround in the second half of the season: they came into the afternoon with a 2-6 mark. The Eagles started the day at 5-2.
