UGA's remaining 2015 recruiting targets
Georgia has an impressive 25 commitments already for its 2015 recruiting class, which is good enough to rank the Bulldogs with the No. 3 recruiting class behind only Alabama and Florida State.
But even with that many commitments, head coach Mark Richt and his coaching staff are far from done filling out the remaining spots in the class.
Here are the remaining recruiting targets that UGA fans should keep an eye on until National Signing Day.
- Roquan Smith (four-star LB) — One of UGA’s top remaining targets officially visited UGA this past weekend and the ‘Dawgs are one of the favorites to land Smith. At 6-2, 205-pounds, Smith is a very athletic linebacker prospect who will be an asset in coverage. He’s being recruited hard by top UGA commit and defensive tackle Trent Thompson. As of now, UGA looks to be in good position to sign Smith come early February.
- Donte Jackson (four-star ATH) — Jackson can play both sides of the ball, but with defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt as his primary recruiter, he’ll likely make an impact as a defensive back for the ‘Dawgs. Right now, it appears to be coming down to LSU and UGA for Jackson, but the four-star athlete is from New Orleans, a hotbed for LSU recruits. While the ‘Dawgs are an attractive option, pulling Louisiana recruits away from the in-state school is always easier said than done.
- Chidi Valentine-Okeke (four-star OT) — As one of the top offensive line prospects still uncommitted, you know Georgia is pushing hard to secure Valentine-Okeke’s commitment. Like with Smith, it appears that UGA is getting some help from its current commits in trying to convince Valentine-Okeke to come to Athens. But with LSU, FSU, Alabama and Auburn as his other final schools, Georgia will have some tough competition for his services.
- Justin Martin (four-star DB) — Out of all of UGA’s remaining targets, Martin may be the biggest longshot. Hailing from Nashville, Tenn., Martin is Tennessee lean according to 247sports. The ‘Dawgs will have to compete with the Vols and LSU for the nation’s top JUCO cornerback prospect.
- D’Andre Walker (four-star DE) — Now nationally known for his “Elf Yourself” video, Walker is an intriguing defensive line prospect for UGA. At 6-foot-2, 218-pounds, Walker likely moves to linebacker in Georgia’s 3-4 defensive scheme. He’s down to Georgia, Tennessee and Auburn.
