Georgia and Oklahoma are getting ready to face off in the Rose Bowl, and Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley offered an interesting perspective when comparing the two offenses.

Riley commented on Georgia’s deep backfield as one area that stands out and said that the Bulldogs have three backs that could play for anyone in the country.

The Bulldogs are certainly deep in the backfield, led by senior RBs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. Freshman D’Andre Swift has also been impressive and is third on the team with 597 rushing yards. With that being said, RBs Elijah Holyfield and Brian Herrien also have more than 260 yards on the ground this season.

Though Riley did praise Georgia’s talented group of backs, he took time to compare Georgia’s run of recruiting talented runners to that of Oklahoma:

“We’ve kinda felt like us and Georgia have been the standard with tailback recruiting,” said Riley.

Oklahoma Football’s official Twitter account shared video of his comments:

While the Sooners do have a strong history at RB, it is hard to make the comparison between the two schools when looking at recent history. Georgia has consistently landed some of the top RB recruits and is set to do so again in 2018.

As it currently stands, the Bulldogs have received commitments from the No. 1 and No. 3 RB for the class of 2018 after landing Swift, the No. 4 RB in the country from 2017.
