Georgia went to Vanderbilt and completely dominated on Saturday afternoon. It was expected that the Bulldogs win handily, and that’s exactly what they did.

The game was never close, as Georgia scored 5 touchdowns in the first quarter and cruised to a 62-0 win. The Bulldogs may have been able to win by even more, but they didn’t score in the final 13 minutes, 6 seconds of the contest.

Still, Georgia won in such lopsided fashion that it made some history in the process.

Here’s where Georgia’s win ranks among the biggest shutout road victories in SEC history (per ESPN Stats & Info):

1. Alabama 71, Vanderbilt 0; Nov. 17, 1945
2. Tennessee 65, Vanderbilt 0; Nov. 26, 1994
T-3. LSU 62, Tulane 0; Nov. 22, 1958
T-3. Georgia 62, Vanderbilt 0; Sept. 25, 2021

The Bulldogs amassed 532 total yards and held the Commodores to 77. Georgia dominated time of possession (37:17) and had 28 first downs to Vandy’s 4. It was a clear example of why the Bulldogs are the No. 2 team in the country and the Commodores are unranked.
