Will Muschamp came to Georgia to work for his alma mater under head coach Kirby Smart last season, helping the Bulldogs win the national title while serving as the team’s special teams coordinator.

This year, he is serving as the co-defensive coordinator for the Dawgs, alongside Glenn Schumann, after Dan Lanning left for the Oregon head coaching job.

On Tuesday, Muschamp met with the media, saying he appreciates the opportunity Smart gave him. He added that he’s got the “best job in America”:

Muschamp and Schumann will have to replace a lot of talent on the defense this year. Travon Walker was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, with Jordan Davis, Quay Walker, Devonte Wyatt and Lewis Cine all going in Round 1, too.

There’s still plenty of talent on the defense, though. Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith and Kelee Ringo are among this year’s crop of Georgia defenders already receiving first-round buzz. That certainly will make Muschamp’s job much easier this fall!
