In 2012, Todd Gurley rushed for 1,385 yards and 17 touchdowns. It was just the start of Georgia’s incredible recent “RBU” run of dominant SEC running backs primed to play on Sundays.
With D’Andre Swift in his rookie season with the Detroit Lions, it is now Zamir White’s turn to lead the Georgia ground attack. On Sunday, the official Twitter account of Georgia’s football team shared a video where White embraces the opportunity to be a team leader and the next face of “RBU.”
“Georgia is a running back school,” White says in the video below. “We’re ‘RBU.’ I have to carry on that tradition. Todd and Sony (Michel) and (Nick) Chubb and Swift and those guys… I got to be the next guy up to keep that going. I just have to keep working hard and follow my teammates and just make sure the next guys up are prepared.”
The former 5-star recruit is coming off of a 78-carry season for 408 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, capped by 18-carry, 92-yard breakout performance in the Sugar Bowl win over Baylor. White knows he still has work to do but is confident he can make the necessary improvements.
“I just got to work on my catching and stuff like that, but I am going to get it down. I am definitely going to get it down.”
