Mark Stoops may take objection to being categorized this way, but Kentucky is among 7 basketball schools that are still undefeated in football after 3 games.

With basketball season just weeks away, football programs at Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Syracuse, UCLA and Indiana are all still undefeated and several are building excitement, including Kansas, which is lobbying ESPN’s “College GameDay” to visit its campus next week.

The Jayhawks knocked off Houston, 48-30, and will play host to Duke next week in an undefeated showdown at noon ET on FS1. The Jayhawks won back-to-back road games for the first time since 2007.

The Jayhawks already had a historic start to the season before Saturday. They were 2-0 for the first time since 2011 and did it largely behind a high-powered offense entering Saturday fourth in the nation in scoring 52.5 points a game.
