Aba Selm has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

The 6-foot-4 and 293-pound offensive tackle, who is rated a 3-star recruit by 247Sports, hails from Independence, Kentucky (Simon Kenton). He committed to Kentucky over offers from Penn State, Illinois, Louisville and Missouri. Selm was on campus over the weekend for the Wildcats’ first junior day of the year, but he knew he was committing much earlier, he told CatsPause.

“It was about my first time being there really,” he said. “I think I was there for [the] Youngstown [State game]. I was talking to the coaches. The relationship that we had from the get-go, you can’t make it up really.”

There’s not yet a 247Sports Composite rating on Selm, but he’s expected to be one of the top players in the Bluegrass State in the 2024 class.

Tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow recruited Selm, and the recruit said he’s from a family of UK fans.
