Kentucky’s momentum on the recruiting trail continues to heat up as the Wildcats just landed a commitment from one of the top defensive backs from the state of Ohio.

Alex Afari of West Chester, Ohio announced his commitment to Mark Stoops’ Kentucky program during a Friday appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio. Afari also confirmed his commitment to Kentucky on social media.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Lakota West High School standout is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 24 athlete in the nation and Ohio’s No. 13 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Afari’s commitment gives Kentucky 10 pledges for the 2022 recruiting cycle, which currently ranks as the nation’s No. 12 overall class and the No. 5 class in the Southeastern Conference.
