Good news for Kentucky fans, the school announced on Friday that the current plan is to open campus back up in August.

This news comes after similar plans have been announced by Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Georgia and Missouri in recent days.

In a statement from school president Eli Capilouto, Kentucky’s goal is to open in August:

The distinctive residential educational experience we provide at UK has attracted thousands of students from across Kentucky, the country and the globe. That experience is critical for the future. This differentiated education will be more necessary than ever to help us and our students meet the ongoing and daunting new challenges our world must now confront.

This becomes the latest in a series of optimistic plans that point toward the 2020 college football season playing out after a few weeks of depressing predictions from around the world of college football.

While there are still many hurdles to overcome, the news has been largely positive in recent days which is something we all need during these unprecedented times.
