What was once a loaded weekend schedule in the Southeastern Conference appears to be dwindling by the hour as we may reportedly lose another game from Saturday’s slate.
Auburn’s trip to Mississippi State has already been postponed by the SEC — that game is now scheduled to be played on Saturday, Dec. 12 — and there are concerns regarding the fate of Alabama’s trip to LSU and Texas A&M’s trip to Tennessee while Arkansas has lost head coach Sam Pittman for the team’s upcoming trip to Florida after he tested positive for COVID.
Missouri, which is scheduled to host Georgia this week, is also reportedly experiencing COVID issues now.
Now we can add another game to the mix as Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio is reporting that this weekend’s upcoming Vanderbilt at Kentucky game could also be lost.
Here is a comment Jones shared from one of his sources:
“I would say right now it’s 50-50 the game with Vandy gets played. They have major Covid issues and we have some as well. Could go either way,” Jones tweeted on Tuesday.
Mark Stoops shared on Monday that the Wildcats are down to just three offensive coaches but would not specific the exact reason for being limited on that side of the ball.
