Daimion Collins is looking to transfer from Kentucky after 2 seasons with the Wildcats.

Collins, a former 5-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, announced Friday that he is entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He thanked UK coach John Calipari for the opportunity to be a Wildcat.

“Dear Big Blue Nation, in the last two years, I have encountered so many amazing people and had some incredible memories that I will cherish a lifetime,” Collins wrote in a note posted to Twitter.

“To my teammates, thank you for the strong bond and brotherhood. We challenged and supported each other every day, and it actually made us better. I’m forever grateful for the valuable experiences we shared together.

“I want to take a moment to thank Coach Cal and staff, for giving me the opportunity to represent BBN and continue my growth as a young man.

“While this has been a difficult decision, it’s the best decision for my future. With that being said I will be entering the transfer portal.”

Collins played in 52 games, starting 2, for UK over the past 2 seasons. He averaged 2.4 points and 2 rebounds over 7.6 minutes per game. As a recruit, Collins had scholarship offers from 15 schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia and Texas A&M.

Veteran guard CJ Frederick also announced his plans to enter the transfer portal Friday.
