If Kentucky needed some extra motivation for Saturday, Florida head coach Dan Mullen may have just given new bulletin-board material to the Wildcats.

Mullen met with the media on Monday and was asked what he thought about Kentucky junior wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. It’s been a tremendous year for Robinson thus far, and the Gators will need to try to find a way to stop him, so it’s a relevant topic for game week.

There was an issue with the question for Mullen, though — he didn’t seem to know who Robinson was based off name alone.

“Which one? What number? I know numbers, you know what I’m saying,” Mullen said.

The reporter who asked the question followed up by clarifying that Robinson is No. 1, to which Mullen replied, “I’ve got you, yeah, yeah.”

Robinson has 25 catches for 402 yards and 2 touchdowns during Kentucky’s 4-0 start. He’s had at least 5 catches in every game and has exceeded the 100-yard mark 3 times. This past Saturday, he had 7 catches for 65 yards in the win at South Carolina.

Kentucky associate head coach/recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow weighed in when he found out about the exchange between Mullen and the reporter:

Perhaps Mullen wasn’t too familiar with Robinson because it’s his first year with the Wildcats. Robinson spent the past 2 seasons at Nebraska before deciding to transfer.

However, it’s possible that Robinson will make sure Mullen knows his name after Saturday’s game, as he’ll have the chance to make some big plays against the Gators.

Kentucky and Florida are set to kick off on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
