Departing UK DC D.J. Eliot thanks Kentucky, Mark Stoops in statement

D.J. Eliot was formally announced as the new defensive coordinator at Colorado on Thursday. The departing Wildcats assistant released a statement thanking UK and coach Mark Stoops for the opportunity:

Eliot joined the Kentucky staff in 2013 as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, following Stoops from Florida State. In 2016, the Wildcats allowed an average of 31.3 points per game in 2016, which ranked 11th among all SEC teams. The Wildcats were No. 9 yards allowed, giving up an average of 434.2 yards.
