Former Kentucky DE T.J. Carter lands new NFL opportunity

T.J. Carter has landed a new NFL opportunity. The Pittsburgh Steelers announced they have signed the former Kentucky defender on Friday.

Carter went undrafted in 2020. He spent time with the Arizona Cardinals but was let go in July. Carter then signed in August with the New Orleans Saints. He has yet to see the field in an NFL game.

At UK, Carter started 28 of the 50 games he played. He recorded 71 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 6 sacks, 5 passes defended and 10 quarterback hurries. In the final season of his Wildcat career, Carter recorded career highs in tackles (26), tackles for loss (6), quarterback hurries (4) and sacks (2).
