Former Kentucky center Drake Jackson is on the move. Jackson has landed with the Houston Texans off of waivers from the Detroit Lions.

Jackson signed with the Lions in May as an undrafted free agent. The Versailles, Kentucky native departed UK after playing in 47 games, 44 consecutive starts at center, the third-longest such streak for the program since 1993.

Jackson was part of the “Big Blue Wall,” who were named semifinalists for the Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the nation’s Most Outstanding Offensive Line, in 2019 and 2020.

In 2020, Jackson was a team captain and graded at 85 percent in 10 regular-season games played, missing just one assignment in 627 snaps. He also had 38 knockdown blocks and led the team with 167 blocks at the point of attack.

Hopefully, the move to Houston helps Jackson see the field.
