Former UK coach Rich Brooks chimes in on Kentucky's disappointing bowl loss with an odd tweet
While the Kentucky Wildcats were struggling their way through a 33-18 loss to Georgia Tech in Saturday’s TaxSlayer Bowl, one former Kentucky coach was possibly reveling in the Wildcats’ misery.
Rich Brooks, who coached at the school from 2003 to 2009, chimed in during the game with an odd tweet thanking his 2006, 2007 and 2008 Kentucky squads for actually winning their bowl games:
I want to thank my Ky players from 06,07,08 for understanding it's great to get to a bowl but much, much better to win it. Great memories!

The 2016 season marked the first time since 2010 that the Wildcats managed to qualify for a bowl game, so things are starting to look up for Mark Stoops and his squad.
Whether Brooks meant his tweet as a jab at the 2016 team or not, he did follow it up with some praise for Stoops and the work he did in 2016:
Cats had a very good year. Most of the team is back. Coach Stoops got them turned around and 17 looks good moving forward.

Maybe next year, the Wildcats can do what Brooks’s squads did and earn a bowl-game victory.
