Bob Stoops is going back to the Air Raid.

It’s somewhat ironic that the former Oklahoma coach began his head coaching career with the Sooners utilizing the offense in Norman with Mike Leach as his offensive coordinator and now with Stoops returning to coaching in the XFL, he’s turning to the coach that taught Leach the system.

On Thursday, the XFL announced Hal Mumme would be Stoops’ offensive coordinator when the inaugural XFL season begins in 2020.

Mumme previously served as OC at Jackson State last season. During the 1997-2000 seasons, Mumme was Kentucky’s head coach.
