Jay Williams had a bit of a strange moment Sunday.

Defending national champion UConn was in action on Sunday, knocking off Indiana, 77-57. The score was close after the first half, but the Huskies pulled away for the comfortable victory.

The game was on ESPN, and analyst Jay Williams was on the call. During the broadcast, Williams went on a tangent about DJ Wagner, seeming to speculate in favor of Wagner transferring to Louisville.

“Milt Wagner, his grandson, DJ Wagner, plays for Kentucky,” Williams said. “There are a lot of guards on Kentucky’s roster who are really good. They can go. You wonder how that situation plays out over time. Does DJ find himself back at Louisville?”

Check it out below:

It was unexpected to hear Williams say that, as he said this without any real supporting facts that Wagner could be transferring.

Kentucky is currently 3-1 on the season, with their lone loss being to preseason No. 1 Kansas, 89-84. Through 4 games, Wagner is averaging 9.3 points and 2.8 assists. He has really struggled shooting the ball, as he is shooting only 32 % from the field, and 24% on 3’s.

While there hasn’t been much talk about Wagner potentially transferring, you can bet there will be some more on this in the coming days. Kentucky plays Louisville on December 21 at the KFC Yum! center in Louisville.
