John Calipari is ready to make changes to the Kentucky lineup to jumpstart the Wildcats after a dismal outing.

Calipari said “a few too many guys” are playing too many minutes, and said UK would make changes to the starting lineup.

“I know we’re not OK offensively right now. I know we’ve got to tweak some things,” Calipari said Monday on his coaches show. “Tweaking a little bit. I’m hoping you will see this next game a couple of things that hopefully you will see a smoothness to us playing.”

Pointing to the need to be more physical, Calipari singled out Chris Livingston and Lance Ware for their positive contributions against UCLA, and put an emphasis on playing “the tough guys” moving forward.

“We’re not going to get bullied by teams,” he said.

In the 63-53 loss to UCLA on Saturday, UK shot 32.8% from the field, and was 6-for-21 from 3-point range. The Wildcats also had 18 turnovers, and saw its largest lead at 3 points, while UCLA’s was 13.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday against Florida A&M, and open SEC play against Missouri on Dec. 28.
