John Calipari is always good for a funny quote.
The subject of his latest quip? Georgia transfer point guard Sahvir Wheeler and his previous turnover issues with the Bulldogs.
Wheeler has cut down on his turnovers this year, and Coach Cal had a great quote about why. As you can see below, he said he simply told Wheeler he couldn’t turn the ball over that much at Kentucky:
Calipari on if he was concerned about Sahvir Wheeler’s high number of turnovers at Georgia: "I know that wouldn’t happen here because I told him. You know you’re not turning the ball over four times a game here, right?"

Sounds like some quality coaching from Calipari there! Why didn’t the Georgia staff think of that?
When you have the ball in your hands as much as Wheeler, turnovers are inevitable. But, limiting them, and not committing them in important spots, is crucial for a team’s success.
We’ll see if Wheeler can continue to take care of the ball during his stint with the Wildcats.
