After taking a 30-26 lead into halftime on Saturday night at Texas A&M, Kentucky had a terrible second half, falling to the Aggies 85-74.

The Wildcats have now lost three-straight games and are 17-8 overall (6-6 in SEC play). Though they are seemingly safe in terms of making the NCAA Tournament, it seems to be more based on name recognition than anything they’ve done on the court this year.

However, coach John Calipari said on Saturday night that he isn’t worried just yet, according to ESPN.com:

“I’m not cracking,” Calipari said. “This doesn’t faze me.”

Kentucky is the youngest team in college basketball this year, and Coach Cal said the lack of leadership is really hurting the Wildcats:

“When we get this, we’ll bust through,” Calipari said. “But it’s getting old right now, and each week that goes by it gets harder and harder to get this thing to where you want it to go. And so, at some point, somebody’s got to lead and step up and say, ‘Hey, enough is enough.’ Right now, I’m not sure we have that guy.”

As of Thursday, ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi had the Wildcats as a No. 5 seed in the tourney, but that will likely change next week.

Now, Kentucky’s road game at SEC-leading Auburn on Wednesday night looms even larger, as it is bordering on a must-win game for the Wildcats.
