The Kentucky Wildcats advanced to the Sweet 16 over the weekend, overcoming the absence of star F PJ Washington in both games.

Washington is dealing with a foot injury, suffered during the SEC Tournament loss to Tennessee and has been in a walking boot.

On Monday, coach John Calipari provided an update on Washington’s status, saying the cast will likely be coming off on Tuesday:

Notably, Coach Cal did not mention whether he thinks Washington will be available for the Sweet 16 matchup against Houston or not.

That’ll be something Kentucky fans will be keeping an eye on. Sure, the Wildcats made it past No. 15 seed Abilene Christian and No. 7 seed Wofford without Washington, but No. 3 Houston and (potentially) No. 1 seed North Carolina will be different animals.
