Key Kentucky defender decides to opt out of the rest of the 2020 season
Things have not been going well for the Kentucky Wildcats lately. They’re only 3-6 on the season and end the regular season on Saturday against South Carolina.
Now, they have some more bad news to deal with, as a key defender has opted out for the rest of the season/postseason.
As you can see below, CB Kelvin Joseph, a transfer from LSU, has decided to opt out to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft:

Joseph has been a solid corner for the Wildcats this season, recording 25 tackles and 4 interceptions, 1 of which he returned for a touchdown.
Where he ends up getting drafted remains to be seen, but he’ll be missed on the back end of the Kentucky defense.
Alternate headline: key Kentucky defender decides to abandon his team and quit with only a few games left in the season.
With only ONE GAME LEFT?? I remember my Midget Football Team (in the early 60’s – not really midgets, but “youth league” hadn’t been invented yet) when we lost 54-0 then 48-0 then 36-0 then 24-0 then 18-0 and FINALLY – he DID IT! 18-6!! We SCORED!! At no point did any of us “opt out”, quit, or give up. I can still see Bulldog Bradley being carried down the field about 50 yards on the back of the huge running back he tried to tackle! Kids today are just different!!
Maybe he’ll miss his jockstrap he left on the field after Pitts ran past him for a touchdown, excuse me i mean touchdowns. Wonder which person will take his place on the “let’s make one of the other teams greatest players mad” twitter page.
Funny post. Go CATS!!!
D@mn, Pitts ended both the talkers seasons.
He certainly needs to prepare. He can’t cover in college. Don’t see how he is going to be a hit in the NFL. And what you said doubledawg…100%. There’s no team loyalty anymore. It’s all about “me”.
Unfortunately, these kids see opting out “for the NFL draft” (when half of them won’t be drafted) as a status symbol. But there’s a difference between going pro early and quitting on your teammates in the middle of the season.
If I were an NFL GM, I’d take these kids who opt out off of my draft board.
How the story actually went:
Stoops finally got tired of the selfish antics and told him you can sit and be a teammate or move on.
Thank you coach, next time don’t accept the personality defects just because they are supposed to be a big time player.
We will never hear it from the coach but I have a feeling there is regret for taking this guy in.
