Kentucky went down to Georgia to add its latest 2019 pledge.

Well, 3-star 2019 cornerback Jay Ward came up to Lexington to give his verbal commitment. After an unofficial visit to Lexington on Friday, Ward gave his pledge to the Cats.

He made that announcement on Twitter on Friday night:

Ward is rated the No. 82 cornerback and the No. 895 player overall in the 2019 class. The Colquitt County High School (Ga.) recruit has offers from the likes of Indiana, Iowa State, West Virginia and others.

The 6-1, 175-pound cornerback became the ninth verbal pledge — and fourth Georgia native — to join Mark Stoops’ 2019 class, which is currently ranked No. 11 in the SEC and No. 46 overall.
