If it seems like it was months ago that former Auburn QB Joey Gatewood decided to transfer to Kentucky, well… it was.

However, Gatewood is still waiting to hear if he’ll be eligible to play for the Wildcats in 2020 or not, as the NCAA has yet to issue a ruling.

On his weekly radio show on Monday night, coach Mark Stoops did say he expects a decision soon, and even hinted that he thinks Gatewood will be cleared:

Even if Gatewood is cleared, that likely doesn’t change the Kentucky QB situation for 2020, as Terry Wilson is almost certain to be the starter. However, having Gatewood will give the Wildcats more depth this fall.

For now, though, the wait continues for the former Auburn quarterback.
