Every college football fanbase knows that commitments don’t always hold up through signing day. Kentucky fans, however, can expect Quaysheed Scott to follow through on his commitment and sign with the Wildcats. The UK safety pledge says he’s shutting things down.

Scott is from South Carolina and had 2 cousins play for the Gamecocks. Shane Beamer’s program has recruited Scott, even getting him to schedule an official visit in Columbia ahead of the Early Signing Period. Those plans, however, have changed.

Scott announced Sunday that he has canceled his weekend visit to South Carolina and is shutting down his recruitment.

A Marion standout, Scott is listed as measuring 5-11 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Scott is rated 3-stars, the No. 10 recruit in the state of South Carolina, No. 76 safety and No. 701 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.

Scott announced his verbal commitment to UK on July 4. South Carolina extended its offer in October. The Early Signing Period will be held Dec. 20-22, with National Signing Day in February.
