Kentucky — not Alabama or Georgia — enters the 2022 season with the SEC’s longest active winning streak.

Per college football insider Brett McMurphy, the Wildcats are tied for the fourth-longest active streak in the country, in fact.

As you can see below, Louisiana leads the way, having won 13-straight games to close out the 2021 season. Clemson is in second with 6 wins in a row. Baylor and Central Michigan both have 5-game winning streaks. Then, Kentucky, Air Force, Georgia State, Tulsa and Utah State are all riding 4-game winning streaks:

That streak is comprised of wins over Vanderbilt, New Mexico State and rival Louisville to close out the regular season, followed by a 20-17 victory over Iowa in the Citrus Bowl.

Kentucky opens the season with a home game against Miami (OH) in Week 1, but then travels to Florida in Week 2. We’ll see if the Wildcats can extend that streak to 6 games with a big road SEC East win.
