Kentucky football is back in the end zone in Starkville.

This time, it’s Mark Stoops’ defense that’s doing the work. Wildcats linebacker D’Eryk Jackson jumped in front of a Mike Wright pass and housed it for 6 about halfway through the 2nd quarter. Kentucky now leads, 14-3.

Check it out below:

Kentucky needed this fast start against a quietly competent Mississippi State squad. The Wildcats have lost 3 straight after winning 5 straight to start the season. A win tonight stamps bowl eligibility for a 3rd straight season.

Devin Leary is playing well in this one. The Wildcats QB has completed 9 of his 14 passes for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns.

While Mississippi State has been able to move the ball relatively well, the Bulldogs are really struggling the finish drives. Kentucky and MSU both have 9 first downs and are within just a little over 25 total yards of the other as we near the halftime break.

Kentucky leads, 21-3.
