Kentucky fans are very excited about the Wildcats’ first bowl appearance in six years.

Earlier today, Kentucky Sports Radio reported that the school had already sold its initial allotment of 8,000 tickets for the team’s TaxSlayer Bowl matchup with Georgia Tech.

It took a whole three days.

“The passion of our fans is a major reason we were selected to play in the TaxSlayer Bowl and we are thankful they have already made plans to follow us in such great numbers,” said athletic director Mitch Barnhart. “Though we have sold through our initial allotment, tickets are still for sale. We hope many more members of the Big Blue Nation will buy them and join us in Jacksonville.”

Lower-level tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased by visiting UKFootballTix.com or through the TaxSlayer Bowl’s website.

Kentucky, which has an opportunity to finish 8-5 for the first time since 2007, will square off with the Yellow Jackets (8-4) on Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. ET.
